About Prayer Voice of MichiganNational Day of Prayer Michigan is a ministry of Prayer Voice of Michigan (PVMI). Vision Statement:Prayer Voice of Michigan exists to glorify God and Jesus Christ our Lord and establish the purposes of His heart with our prayer voices, both now and for all generations. Mission Statement:Prayer Voice of Michigan supports national as well as state and local leaders in prayer, utilizing four foundational ministries.
Each of these ministries has a unique, yet interrelated dynamic which reaches students, adults, and the general public. We sponsor special events and develop educational resources designed to equip and encourage individual as well as corporate prayer. In so doing, we believe we honor the scriptural mandate of the Judeo-Christian faith to pray for those in authority over us. Description of Primary MinistriesAdopt A Leader – Designed for students of Christian schools and Home Schools groups in our state. This ministry teaches the commitment and power of prayer. Each class or group adopts a leader (national, state or local) and agrees to pray for that person throughout the year. A curriculum is provided with prayer devotionals for grades K-12. National Day of Prayer – Prayer Voice of Michigan is the coordinating ministry that ties Michigan to the National Day of Prayer Task Force in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This national event is observed annually the first Thursday of May. Individual events in communities throughout MI are designed to corporately thank God for His blessings and to pray for our governmental leaders. Prayer groups are encouraged to meet during the year to pray for their community, state and nation. Prayer Partners – This ministry matches praying individuals, families and prayer groups with governmental officials. Prayer requests are shared with these committed partners who continually uphold the requests in prayer. We believe this greatly encourages elected and appointed officials. These prayers are heard and answered by God. Surround MI With Prayer – NDPMI is networking with other statewide prayer ministries to establish prayer in all 83 counties. Prayer ResourcesResources are produced to enhance the NDPMI observances. The goal is to encourage Christians to make prayer a daily priority.
